How to Select Energy Efficient Electronics

FRUSTRATION see the electric bill is bloated? Energy-efficient household appliances can be the answer to your problem.

The following are some guidelines to look for household appliances 'green':

Logo
The easiest way to find energy-efficient household appliances is to look for the Energy Star logo. This logo indicates that the model far exceeds the minimum requirements for energy efficiency.

Energy Guide
After finding the model you are looking for, compare the energy guide (a sticker that indicates the energy efficiency of a product) one product with another product.

Basic Guidelines
It's good if you know some basic guidelines such as: washing machine with a door on the front (front-loading) is usually more efficient than washing machine with a door at the top (top-loading); refrigerator with the freezer on the side (side-by-side ) is better than a refrigerator with freezer on top (freezer-on-top), and manual-defrost freezers with energy consuming only half of the self-defosters.

If your refrigerator has more than 10 years old, consider buying a new refrigerator. Because, modern refrigerators are typically two times more energy efficient than older models. Just skip the technology of energy-draining water and ice dispensers.

Double Oven
If you are diligent cook at home, consider buying an oven with two smaller units at the top. This model will save more energy than a separate oven.
